Finished HP: Deathly Hollows day it came out.
Reread Fiest's Darkness at Sethanon last week
the week before i read Steven Erikson's Gardens of the moon ( book read but I wish i knew the 10 book series was'nt finished i hate waiting.)
finished Robin Hobb's the Assassins Apprentice 1st of a trilogy , not bad i read the rest but first person's not really my style.
as you may guess i am kinda into fantasy at the moment. I'm a big fan of fiests style if your've read fiest and liked other fantasy writers let me know. i've heard good things about Scott Bakker

I was reading a bunch of R.A.Salvatore stuff, but just haven't had time. About to pick up Living the 80/20 way which is supposed to be a good read.

In the last month or so I've read Feist's Magician, Silverthorn, and A Darkness at Sethanon then I read The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass - by Philip Pullman. It's payday in a couple of days, so I should be able to pick up Deathly Hallows at last. Hopefully the last Dune book should be out in short order, Hunters of Dune was the last book I read before the above, I'm keen to finish the story

How are you finding fiest Lion. I've done the whole series apart from the Empire trilogy.

How are you finding fiest Lion. I've done the whole series apart from the Empire trilogy. I read the Empre trilogy a few years ago, the ConDoin stories were a hell of a lot better reading. I'm not a big fan of politics I like Feists's writing style, though I don't wanna go to another arc in the same world just yet. The book that someone else wrote about Jimmy the Hand sounds interesting though.

Currently about to start Stephen Donaldson's nweest addition to the Thomas Covenant series (3rd trilogy, added 20 years after the 2nd was writen)
Read a whole run of stand alone novels based on the comic Hellboy ..differing authors.
Polished of Hobbs Liveship Traders series, I realy enjoyed her Assassin series ..yet to start the 2nd one.
Feist I like ... started to wear thin around the Blood Princes or somesuch .. stopped there.
Ian Irvine's Well of Echoes series has also been finished .. I'll pick up the continuation as more get written.
Local Hamilton (and Uni academic) author Russell Kirkpatrick's books.
Garth Nix ... find it mainly in young adults sections is downright awesome .. Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen.
Jasper Fford .. first book of a series, The Eyre affair, which defies explanation. Funny take on literature is the simplest I can put it.

if youre reading feist, next go for george rr martin's series a song of ice and fire.
"a game of thrones" is the first in the series.
by far the best / most adult fantasy i have ever read.
incest/rape/gang rape/infanticide/tragedy/bloodshed/domestic pets being slain/drunkeness/explicit sex/murder/war
dont let this put you off though, as its all done in context and isnt gratuitous. everything has a purpose.
it isnt the usual small farm boy takes on world fantasy either. the author makes you feel miserable the entire time, its so great. main characters being slain after he makes you love them for hundreds of pages, no "good and bad" every character is a shade of grey.
so fucking good.
